Born in Philadelphia, Nancy White - Eggen, grew up in Mt. Vernon, Virginia, one mile from George Washington's home, where her interest in patriots and monarchs began.
Her Architectural degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute included art and architectural history and theory, as well as creating art (in all mediums) to communicate architectural experiences and design.
Living in Castiglione Fiorentino, Italy, and touring classical architecture and art around Europe, inspired Nancy to paint important figures and buildings of the 15th to 18th century, especially the Reformation period.
Upon discovering some of her ancestors who survived the trials of the Reformation and immigrated to America in the 17th century, Nancy was motivated to paint them and their connections to one another and to us.
She prefers to paint with acrylics, on wood, in all dimensions.
Her art has been exhibited in galleries in the Midwest and Italy. She recently participated in the Artprize Competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a 16' x 8' painting of the Reformation featuring 400 historical people of that time.
